I’m a Blackberry Addict, I love my 8900 curve ever since I abandoned the iPhone.
The iPhone may be the ultimate gadget but somehow keeps doing stuff I do not want it to do i.e. flip the screen whenever you slightly tilt it, but the worst thing was the pushmail function which absolutely sucks. and yes it does suck on Android and windows phones as well.
Back to my beloved Blackberry it was. However like everything that is close to perfection Blackberry has some flaws as well. The main reason for these flaws can be found in the fact Blackberry was originally designed for a corporate environment and thus it’s strong point functionality is also it’s weak point cuz functonality isn’t ‘cool’.
When I got my BB back I realized I missed my lovely apps esp. Twitter, facebook and tumblr (also the polaroid pictureapp but somethings have to be sacrificed.)
SO the search starts on the internet to find some of those lovely apps to be installed on my phone.
No way arround it you’ll end up at crackberry and equal oriented sites only to find that 90% of apps or even themes have to be paid for on BB. Now that isn’t a problem I mean who hasn’t bought a 99ct app from iTunes. problem is somehow BB developers decided to start at 2.99 and up and the free apps that are there are ad supported in a nasty way or are to amateuristic and not quite cut out for the job they are intended to do.
This bothers me.
I mean if Research In Motion is keen on making the Blackberry an interesting device for everyone (for I still believe potentionaly it is the iphone Killer everybody keeps talking about) they should at least get a good grip on the secondary demands of the BB users and promote making apps for the blackberry.
Same goes for the appdevelopers on BB why dont they get it that selling 100 apps for 99ct is more money than selling 25 apps for 2.50
Right now Blackberry has appworld where you can find a load of apps free and paid, I discovered that reading the reviews is needed when you download an app for there are some really lazy developers out there, It installs the apps like a breeze and uninstalling is very good as well but one very lovely function is the inbetween.. you can deactivate an app. and I love it.
I hope Research In Motion will pick up the challenge to work on the thing that makes their phones the absolute no. 1 to use , instead of releasing a new model every 6 months. BB’s are built to last we love the phone like our kid no need to have so many models.
I also hope some developers will take it upon them to develop the apps for BB really guys and girls you can make a lot more money there for that market is still uncharted territory but has a more loyal fanbase.
As for my beloved apps?
I found them..
