Many people ask me for advice on what apps to get on the blackberry or if I have some tips & tricks. Well I hope this post will help you to get started and have some massive fun with your blackberry.
Tips:
You most likely never think of syncing your BB with your PC/Mac well I strongly recommend you do. Not only will you have a decent Backup if for some reason your BB stops working but the DesktopManager also updates your BB device stoftware.
Blackberry is getting slower by the day: Delete all software you will NOT use. If for some reason it seems you need it you can always reinstall it. Now the main thing is BB is sloppy when closing programs so pull your battery from your BB once a day or install RestartMe.
If it is just running slow and you do not want a reboot of your device install MemoryUp

Ever wonder how to switch rapidly between programs you’re running?
press Alt than the BB button a small taskmanager will pop up which let’s you switch between programs easily. (this is a massive timesaver)
MOST IMPORTANT TIP: Take time to organise your Icons.. Put them on a place where you want them you can do this by highlighting an app and clikc the BB button than select Move application or Move application to folder. This will increase the fun you have with your BB.
Blackberry has an Achillesheel and that is it’s battery, so leaving home shutdown the wifi. this will help also if you install the facebook app this app drains the battery big time if you keep it logged in all the time. and get that deskcharger if you are a heave user and hate to put that plug in your dvice all the time.

One of the few paid for apps is Quicklaunch it’s a convenience on your blackberry and I seriously have no idea why RIM didn’t include this nifty piece of software in their original design. It is a customiseable popup menu and when you link it to a shortkey it pops up everywhere.
If you have friends who think their iPhone or Android is cool they will talk about Pinging and have no clue BBusers have had that force since like forever. well download Whatapp they’ll most likely use it and it’s 1,99 USD to stay in touch with your friends..
Well the most used IM program cannot be missed on you BB so get MSN .
Like your LED to show who has send you a message? get BeBuzz (paid) or ColorID (free but limited)
Now Twitter on your BB and you’ll never twitter otherwise again . Get it HERE only thing tweak the options to your likings.. (or browse through wickedmind.net for some tips) and for your social networking get the Facebook app both apps are free and official apps from twitter and facebook with all the benefits your BB offers.. (remember pushnotifications)
And just recently I discovered the best simple app there is: Call Blocker block unwanted calls/persons anyway you like.. just check it out it is free. I really love this program.
Themes
well this is very personal but I love two themes. haven’t downloaded any new ones since. yes they are both paid for but they are worth the money.
iHD and my all time favorite Wall from Hedone design, the guys from Hedone make the best themes and keep the user in mind..
